Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Night Carer to join our dynamic care team. This vital role involves providing high-quality overnight care and support to residents in a care home environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. As a Senior Night Carer, you will lead by example, supervising junior staff, managing care plans, and maintaining excellent communication with residents and team members. Your energetic approach will help create a warm, secure atmosphere where residents feel valued and cared for during the night hours.
Responsibilities
- Oversee overnight care operations, ensuring residents’ safety, comfort, and dignity are maintained at all times
- Supervise and support junior carers during night shifts, providing guidance and leadership to foster teamwork
- Monitor residents’ health status, respond promptly to any emergencies or changes in condition
- Implement and update individual care plans in accordance with residents’ needs and preferences
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and resident observations using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
- Conduct regular checks of the care environment to uphold safety standards and cleanliness
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior or night care within a care home setting or similar environment
- Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare or caregiving role
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while leading a team effectively
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and IT systems used for documentation
- Compassionate nature with a proactive attitude towards resident well-being and safety
