A well-established and growing fire safety specialist is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.
This is a mobile field-based role working across a variety of residential and commercial sites, installing and commissioning fire alarm systems in line with current industry standards. The Role
You will be responsible for the installation of fire alarm systems and associated equipment, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with relevant regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installation of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
- Installing containment including tray, trunking, basket and conduit
- Running, terminating and testing fire alarm cabling
- Working from technical drawings and installation plans
- Ensuring installations comply with BS 5839 standards
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- Completing installation documentation and handover information
- Working independently or as part of a wider installation team
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience installing fire alarm systems
- Strong understanding of BS 5839 fire alarm installation standards
- Experience installing containment and cable infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret installation drawings and schematics
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Fire & Security or Electrical (or equivalent)
- FIA, Zeus or equivalent fire alarm qualifications desirable
- Full UK driving licence required

- Ability to work independently and manage workloads on site
- Good communication and problem-solving skills

- Basic salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
- Overtime paid at time and a half after evenings and Saturdays
- Double pay on Sundays
- Call-out standby allowance plus £100–£120 per call-out
