Join our jam making team!
Single Variety Co are a family run jam maker based in Warmley, Bristol. We're multi award winning- Great Taste Awards, Taste of the West Awards.
We're looking for someone to join our team and take responsibility for production of our delicious jams. You'll be reporting into our Jam Factory Manager and working alongside our small and friendly jam making team.
You will work a four day week Tuesday to Friday: 7.30am to 5.30pm.
The job involves:
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Cooking jam to our required quality standards- following our written recipe and assessing quality during the cook to ensure the required standard is met
- Adhering to colour coding of cleaning tools.
- Wear any required personal protective equipment (PPE) or site-specific clothing as directed.
- Use a variety of manual cleaning equipment and chemicals as directed.
- Disassemble and reassemble parts of the filling line/ cooking equipment.
- Complete required paperwork/records as directed.
- Hand cutting or slicing large volumes of fresh ingredients.
- Flagging any issues with the equipment to management
- Assist in the warehouse after production/cleaning has been completed.
- This will involve packing, labelling and making boxes.
- A positive approach to work / positive attitude
- A desire to develop skills and progress within the business
- Ability to lift up to 25kg+
- Packing & labelling finished product
We're looking for someone who is passionate about food and quality ingredients and has a great attention to detail. We'll train you on how our jam needs to be made and then trust you to produce it to the desired standard. We launch limited edition flavours every month so there's always something new to make!
Ideally we're looking for someone with experience in a SALSA approved production kitchen, but if you're a food lover and willing to learn then we'll teach you everything you need to know. You must be comfortable with heavy lifting (20-30kg) as the job will involve lifting 25kg bags of sugar and finished product in 20kg tubs.
