Flux Fire Protection are expanding our Fire Door Division and are looking for an experienced Fire Door Contracts Manager / Project Manager to lead the delivery and development of fire door projects across our portfolio.
This is a key role within the business and the successful candidate will play a major part in growing and shaping the division.
Flux Fire Protection works with main contractors, care homes, hotels and FM providers across the UK delivering fire protection works including fire stopping, fire curtains, fire doors and passive fire surveys.
Job Description:
You will take responsibility for managing fire door projects from initial survey and scoping through to installation and completion.
You will work closely with our Business Development Manager, suppliers and clients to help develop scopes of work and quotations, as well as ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to programme.
Projects range from smaller remedial works through to large commercial installations, including hotel and multi-occupancy developments.
The role will involve a mix of:
- Fire door surveys and inspections
- Scoping and pricing projects alongside the commercial team
- Managing installation teams and subcontractors
- Ordering doorsets and ironmongery
- Programming works and coordinating site activities
- Quality control and compliance checks
- Client communication and reporting
In the early stages of the division’s growth there may also be occasions where you assist with installation works if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Survey and scope fire door works
- Work alongside the Business Development Manager to develop quotations and project scopes
- Liaise with door manufacturers and suppliers to specify doorsets and ironmongery
- Manage fire door installation and remedial projects
- Coordinate installers and subcontractors
- Ensure installations comply with BM TRADA / IFC Certification / manufacturer guidance
- Carry out QA inspections and maintain photographic records
- Communicate professionally with clients, contractors and suppliers
- Maintain project documentation, reports and compliance records
Experience Required
We are looking for someone with hands-on fire door experience who understands both installation and project delivery.
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of fire door installation and remedials
- Past as a fire door joiner
- Experience managing projects or site teams
- Ability to survey and scope fire door works
- Confident communicating with clients and writing professional emails
- Comfortable using a PC and producing reports / documentation
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- IFC / FIRAS / BM TRADA experience
- Fire door inspection qualifications (FDIS etc)
- Carpentry / joinery background
- Experience working on commercial projects
