Overall Job Purpose:
To undertake welding, cutting, burning and associated fabrication activities safely and efficiently in support of piling, ground engineering and construction operations. The Welder is responsible for ensuring all works are completed in accordance with approved project documentation, quality standards and Company health, safety and environmental requirements.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Carry out welding, burning, cutting and fabrication activities as directed by site management.
- Establish and maintain controlled exclusion zones, including the correct use of welding screens and barriers.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved project documentation, including:
Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Task Sheets, Lift Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Construction Drawings
- Produce work to the required quality standards and specifications.
- Immediately report any actual or potential non-conformances to the Works Supervisor or Site Management Team.
- Maintain accurate records and provide information as required to support project reporting and commercial recovery.
- Ensure all plant, tools and equipment are used safely and maintained in a serviceable condition.
- Ensure plant and equipment are refuelled prior to off-hire or collection where applicable.
- Support site activities and assist colleagues where appropriate to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as instructed by management.
- Demonstrate a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe acts, conditions, behaviours and equipment.
- Comply with all Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) procedures.
- Wear and maintain the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report hazards, near misses, unsafe conditions and incidents promptly and accurately.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inspections as required.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the work area and surrounding environment.

Desired Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Good construction knowledge and experience
- CSCS Plant Operator Card
- CPCS Site Welder
- CPCS Abrasive Wheels
- Coded Welding
- Slinger Signaller
- MEWP
Hours and Environment:
7:30am till 6pm. Minimum of 50 hrs per week. Due to the nature of this role, employees are expected to be co-operative in working outside their normal hours as necessary to cope with varying situations and workloads. This role will require regular travel and overnight stays due to varying site locations.
