We’re excited to introduce a new Maintenance Team Leader role at The Amicus Community!
Working closely with the Environment & Facilities Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping our residential homes and school sites safe, well-maintained and welcoming environments for our children and staff.
You’ll combine hands on maintenance work with team coordination, helping to prioritise requests, allocate jobs, support Maintenance Workers and keep work progressing safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
This is a varied, practical role where no two days will be the same. Alongside coordinating the maintenance workload, you’ll get involved in a wide range of work across our sites – from repairs, decorating and gardening to general upkeep and creative projects.

Duties
- Coordinate and prioritise maintenance requests across Amicus sites, allocating work based on urgency, risk, skills and availability.
- Monitor outstanding jobs, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Provide practical support and guidance to Maintenance Workers and communicate priorities with the Environment & Facilities Manager.
- Carry out general maintenance including gardening, plumbing, joinery, minor electrical work, building repairs, painting and decorating.
- Maintain fixtures, fittings and the general upkeep of residential homes and school sites.
- Complete routine Health & Safety checks, including water temperatures, fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire exits and fire extinguishers.
- Identify and report defects, complete repairs where appropriate and maintain accurate records of maintenance work.
- Order materials and supplies as required, working within agreed budgets.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including occasional out-of-hours requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment and ensure tools are kept secure and supervised.
- Work professionally around children, staff and visitors, maintaining appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
- Support creative projects and other maintenance-related work as required.
- Follow Health & Safety, COSHH, safeguarding and data protection requirements.
- Undertake relevant training and any other reasonable duties within the role.
- Be committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of our children.

Pay: £28,018.00 per year
