Fire Door Inspection Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced and commercially aware Fire Door Replacement Specification Manager to lead the technical specification and pre-manufacturing process for our fire door replacement projects. Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a key leadership role that will ensure customer requirements are accurately translated into compliant, manufacturable fire door solutions.
As the link between Sales, Customers, Surveying, Ironmongery, Manufacturing and Operations, you will take ownership of projects as they move from quotation and order stage through to manufacturing release, ensuring specifications are accurate, compliant and aligned with customer expectations. You will also lead our Surveying Team and Ironmongery Manager, driving quality, consistency and continuous improvement across the function.
· Manage the fire door replacement specification process from order stage through to manufacturing release.
· Work closely with customers to understand requirements, resolve technical queries and agree compliant solutions.
· Ensure all fire door specifications align with certification requirements, test evidence and approved manufacturing capabilities.
· Lead and develop the Surveying Team and Ironmongery Manager, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
· Review survey outputs, identify technical risks and ensure all information is complete and accurate.
· Develop and manage front-to-back project schedules, ensuring projects are fully prepared before manufacture.
· Coordinate effectively with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful project delivery.
· Drive process improvements that reduce rework, improve accuracy and enhance customer satisfaction.
· Promote a culture of technical excellence, compliance and right-first-time delivery.
We are looking for a technically competent and customer-focused professional with a strong background in the fire door industry. You will be comfortable managing multiple projects, building relationships with customers and stakeholders, and leading teams to achieve high standards of performance and compliance.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the fire door industry.
- Experience in fire door replacement, surveying, specification, manufacturing, installation or technical project delivery.
- Strong understanding of fire door regulations, certification requirements, test evidence and industry best practice.
- Experience translating customer requirements into compliant technical solutions.
- Knowledge of ironmongery schedules, hardware compatibility and fire door assemblies.
- Proven experience leading teams and driving operational improvements.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- IFE Level 3 Qualification or equivalent fire door qualification desirable.
