Join an Established Independent Dealership
Motor Market has been supplying quality used vehicles across the West Midlands for over 20 years. As our business continues to grow, we're looking to recruit two experienced Vehicle Technicians / PDI Technicians to join our in-house preparation team.
Unlike many workshop roles, you'll be preparing our own retail vehicles rather than carrying out customer repairs. We take pride in presenting vehicles to a high standard and believe in preparing them properly, not simply getting them through the workshop.

The Role
Your primary responsibility will be inspecting and preparing our used vehicles for retail sale.
This includes carrying out comprehensive 128-point Pre-Delivery Inspections, identifying any mechanical or safety defects, and completing the necessary servicing and repair work to ensure every vehicle is ready for its new owner.
Typical Duties
- Carry out comprehensive 128-point vehicle inspections.
- Identify and report mechanical defects.
- Complete servicing and routine maintenance.
- Replace brake pads, brake discs and other braking components.
- Carry out suspension and steering repairs.
- Complete MOT preparation work and associated repairs.
- Road test vehicles before and after repair.
- Maintain accurate inspection records.
- Ensure every vehicle meets Motor Market's preparation standards before sale.
Desirable Skills (Not Essential)
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Vehicle diagnostics using scanning equipment.
- Electrical fault finding.
- Air conditioning servicing and repair.
- Advanced mechanical repairs.
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or PDI Technician.
- A recognised motor vehicle qualification (preferred but not essential with relevant experience).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
