Llangatwg Community School is seeking to appoint a committed and reliable Cleaner to help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school site. Working individually and as part of a small team under the direction of the Senior Cleaner, the successful candidate will ensure that designated areas are kept in a clean and hygienic condition in line with agreed schedules and quality standards. Main Purpose of Post
To clean designated areas of the school to agreed schedules, ensuring that all areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition in line with quality standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake, individually or as a member of a team, the cleaning of premises, which may from time to time be varied at the discretion of the Senior Cleaner or Support Services Manager.
- Ensure that designated areas are kept in a clean and hygienic condition in accordance with agreed schedules and quality standards.
- Carry out specific cleaning duties including cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bins, polishing and dusting of designated areas (including toilets) and fixtures and fittings.
- Use electrically powered equipment where appropriate and in accordance with agreed guidelines.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are complied with at all times.
- Undertake training as required and identify own training needs.
- Duties and hours may vary between term and closure periods and shall be undertaken at the discretion of the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required, commensurate with the salary grade and within the postholder's capabilities.
