Service Advisor

Optimum Bikes is a growing independent motorcycle dealership based at Bilbrough Top, York, specialising in quality used motorcycles, servicing and high levels of customer care.
We're looking to welcome a Service Advisor to our team and become the first point of contact for customers bringing their motorcycles into our workshop.
This is a varied, customer-facing role where you'll be responsible for booking motorcycles into the workshop, keeping customers updated and working closely with our Service Manager and technicians to make sure everything runs smoothly from booking through to collection.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming customers and providing a friendly, professional service
- Taking enquiries by phone, email and in person
- Booking motorcycles into the workshop for servicing, MOTs and repairs
- Discussing customer requirements and accurately recording job details
- Preparing job cards and keeping workshop bookings organised
- Liaising with technicians and keeping track of work progressing through the workshop
- Keeping customers updated on the progress of their motorcycle
- Discussing any additional work required and preparing estimates
- Discussing costs and obtaining customer approval for additional work
- Arranging customer collections and keeping customers informed of completion times
- Handling invoices and payments
- Following up with customers after work has been completed where appropriate
- Supporting the wider dealership team when required
About you
We're looking for someone who is friendly, organised and confident dealing with customers, and who will fit in well with our close-knit team.
You'll ideally have experience in a customer service, service advisor, workshop or automotive environment, although we're happy to consider someone with the right attitude and transferable experience.
A genuine interest in motorcycles would be a big advantage, but you don't need to be a motorcycle expert. What's more important is that you're comfortable talking to people, can stay organised when things get busy and take pride in providing a great customer experience.
You'll need to be:

- Comfortable using computers and booking systems
- Able to communicate clearly with customers and technicians
- Good at managing your time and prioritising tasks
- Comfortable discussing costs and additional work with customers
- Reliable and able to work as part of a close-knit team

- Calm and professional when dealing with busy periods or challenging situations
