Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing and stimulating environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management, leadership, and childcare skills to make a positive impact on children's early learning experiences. Candidates with experience in nursery settings and early childhood education are highly encouraged to apply. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs related to the role.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that promotes learning through play
- Support children's emotional, social, and physical development by providing attentive care and guidance
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure consistent support for each child's progress
- Manage daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and outdoor play sessions
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of behaviour, organisation, and hygiene within the nursery setting
- Assist in organising activities that encourage creativity, curiosity, and independence
- Contribute to the ongoing assessment of children's development and maintain accurate records
- Demonstrate strong communication skills when liaising with parents, colleagues, and external professionals
- Uphold health and safety regulations at all times, ensuring compliance with childcare legislation
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment that encourages learning and exploration
- Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare) or equivalent
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties related to the role
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
