We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate or Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering & Construction team at our Hawarden office.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced Lead Engineers and our Engineering Director on a wide range of electrical engineering projects.
The Role
As a Graduate/Junior Electrical Design Engineer, you will support the engineering team in producing electrical design documentation and drawings for a variety of industrial projects.
Training, mentoring, and professional development will be provided to help you build your technical knowledge and engineering career.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce technical drawings using AutoCAD under the guidance of Lead Engineers.
- Assist with the development of:
- Single line diagrams
- Block cable diagrams
- Containment layouts and section drawings
- Electrical panel General Arrangement drawings
- General EC&I design deliverables
- Use Trimble Amtech ProDesign software to support cable calculations in accordance with BS 7671.
- Follow company quality assurance procedures and engineering standards.
- Ensure all documentation is produced accurately and professionally.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
- Develop technical knowledge through ongoing training and project exposure.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of electrical engineering principles.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
Desirable
- Experience within an electrical engineering, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- Experience of building services design including:
- Lighting systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Public address systems
- Experience of EC&I installations, containment, cabling, and distribution systems.
