We are currently supporting a nationally recognised manufacturing operation in their search for a Technical Documents Engineer to join the team in a key, business-critical role. This is an excellent opportunity to become the central link between production, planning, and new product development, ensuring all technical information is accurate, controlled, and ready for use.
You will be responsible for managing and maintaining all technical documentation, product data, and sample control processes, ensuring production teams have everything they need to operate efficiently and accurately.
Working closely with both the Production & Planning Manager and the NPD team, you will play a vital role in supporting new product launches and ongoing manufacturing operations.
Manage and maintain technical documentation and product records, ensuring accuracy and control
Create part codes, BOMs, and system data (Syspro)
Coordinate and manage the Engineering Change Note (ECN) process
Support new product introductions, including leading handover meetings
Maintain sample rooms, gauges, calibration records, and tracking systems
Produce and distribute setting sheets, packing specs, and technical documentation
Liaise with purchasing on materials, packaging, and technical data (TDS/MSDS)
Keep all logs and trackers up to date (samples, gauges, ECNs, tooling, colour matches, etc.)
Ensure all documentation issued to production is correct, current, and fit for purpose
Use 2D drafting to create packing specifications
Maintain document control standards across production and engineering
Experience in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail and document control experience
Comfortable working with systems (ERP/MRP such as Syspro)
Organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple trackers/processes
Good communication skills and ability to work across departments
Experience with 2D drawing/technical documentation is advantageous
