Earth Energy Education is looking for a self-employed, experienced school workshop leader to deliver workshops in schools and at solar and wind farms across the North of England. The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher or experienced educator seeking part-time consultancy work and must be willing and able to travel. They will have a strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability and biodiversity with a good knowledge of the National Curriculum. They will be able to lead inspiring and engaging sessions for a variety of ages, but primarily secondary school and +16 groups.
Required experience:
- Qualified teacher status (minimum 1 year experience)
Essential criteria
- A strong background in education
- Demonstrable experience working with primary and secondary school students
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum
- Ability to adapt educational workshops to all age groups
- Willingness and ability to travel across the North of England
- Access to a vehicle and a valid UK driving licence
- Superb communication skills
- Punctual, reliable, and professional
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Competent IT skills with the ability to work online
Desirable (not essential)
- An interest in current environmental ideas, renewable energy, and sustainability
- Knowledge of and experience within the Higher Education sector
- Understanding of the secondary school STEM and Geography curricula in England
- Experience designing and presenting educational resources
- Awareness of child protection, health and safety, and risk assessment procedures
- Experience delivering online teaching or virtual workshops
