Warehouse Operative
Location: Stanton, Shepherds Grove Industrial Estate
Salary: £14.00-14.50 per hour (Depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am–4:45pm
Contract: Permanent, full-time
About the role
We are looking for a practical, organised, and dependable Warehouse operative to support the day-to-day operation of our warehouse and production facility.
This is a varied, hands-on role within a small, friendly, and growing agricultural products business. You will be directly involved in manufacturing, filling containers with our product, packing, stock handling, and dispatch, while helping to maintain accurate production records, keep the warehouse safe, organised and running efficiently.
The role offers greater responsibility than a typical warehouse position and would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in keeping things organised and is confident completing the associated paperwork and records.
Key responsibilities
- Manufacture, fill, and pack agricultural products in accordance with company procedures.
- Help coordinate day-to-day activities within the warehouse and production area.
- Complete and maintain accurate production, batch, and traceability records.
- Assist with organising production activities and ensuring the required materials and packaging are available.
- Monitor stock levels and report purchasing requirements to the appropriate member of the team.
- Support regular stock checks and help maintain accurate stock records.
- Receive, check, and correctly store incoming goods and materials.
- Prepare customer orders, product samples, and other goods for dispatch.
- Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Operate a forklift and undertake general warehouse and manual-handling duties.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
- Report equipment, stock, or production issues promptly.
- Suggest practical improvements to warehouse and production processes.
- Provide occasional support at the company’s smallholding in Bedfield during quieter periods when required.
About you
We are looking for someone reliable and self-motivated who can work independently while supporting the wider team. You should be equally comfortable undertaking physical warehouse work and completing production paperwork accurately.
Essential requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence completing paperwork and maintaining accurate records.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Ability to manage day-to-day priorities and use initiative.
- A practical, reliable, and hands-on approach.
- Ability to undertake regular manual handling.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Current forklift licence.
Desirable experience
- Experience supporting or coordinating warehouse or production activities.
- Experience with stock control and stock-taking.
- Experience maintaining batch, manufacturing, or traceability records.
- Experience within an agricultural, chemical, or similarly regulated production environment.
