We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated newly qualified Cardiac Physiologist to join our team in our busy cardiology department at Band 5 level. This post will include further training for progression to Band 6 and Band 7 level once accreditation is achieved with either The British Society of Echocardiography or The British Heart Rhythm Society.
Candidates must have, or be finalising their final year of the BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) Degree, or a direct UK equivalent qualification.

As a newly qualified Cardiac Physiologist you will participate in the delivery of a specialist clinical service and deliver a high standard of care to all patients. You will rotate through sections of the cardiac department to build and maintain a body of specialist knowledge and apply this to practice. You will be given the opportunity to continue to build upon theoretical and practical training utilising the knowledge and experience of our highly specialist cardiac physiologist in a range of diagnostic and therapeutic investigations. You will play an essential role in contributing to the development and delivery of education and training within the department.
The main duties:
To provide a clinical technical service that includes routine ECG, exercise tolerance testing (both doctor and physiologist supervised), 24 hour ambulatory monitoring, assist in the Cardiac Cath Lab during diagnostic angiography and interventional procedures, assist and train in cardiac device implant and follow up clinics. Procedures will be carried out on a range of patients where there maybe exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances. Exposure to patient body odours, body fluids and secretions may occur frequently. You will be expected to analyse and assess test results against acceptability criteria and work within agreed professional policies and protocols.
