Hope at Hand Health Care Ltd is an Ofsted-registered provider of Supported Accommodation for young people aged 16–17. We are seeking compassionate, experienced, and motivated Senior Support Workers to join our team on a zero-hour basis to provide high-quality, trauma-informed support that empowers young people to develop independence, resilience, and confidence. About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where young people can thrive. You will work alongside the management team to deliver person-centred support, promote positive outcomes, and ensure the service meets Ofsted standards and safeguarding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, trauma-informed, person-centred support to young people aged 16–17. Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust, emotional wellbeing, and independence. Support young people with daily living skills, including budgeting, cooking, education, employment, appointments, and tenancy readiness. Complete risk assessments, support plans, key work sessions, and accurate case records. Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times. Respond appropriately to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and challenging situations. Act as a positive role model and mentor to young people. Work collaboratively with social workers, personal advisers, education providers, health professionals, and other partner agencies. Support the induction and guidance of new staff where required. Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience working as a Senior Support Worker or in a similar role supporting children, young people, or care leavers. A sound understanding of trauma-informed practice and person-centred support. Experience promoting emotional wellbeing and supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes. Excellent communication, report-writing, and organisational skills. A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries. Ability to remain calm, professional, and resilient in challenging situations. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-in shifts where required. Qualifications and Training
The following are beneficial but not essential, as training may be provided: SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) training or experience. Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People's Workforce, or an equivalent qualification. Positive Behaviour Support training. Safeguarding Children training.
