We are looking for a skilled and reliable handyman to join our maintenance and properties team for our residential children's home and properties that we manage. You will be responsible for all upkeep and repair duties including maintaining green spaces, identifying the need for repairs, responding to clients’ maintenance requests, and servicing properties.
Your tasks will include but not be limited to:
- Completing minor plumbing repairs such as fixing dripping taps or running toilet cisterns
- Installing new electrical wiring for outlets, switches, and light fixtures
- Installing household appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers
- Installing smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
- Home decorations
- Fitting shelves, hanging pictures and installing windows and window restrictors.
- Installing and repairing doors / hinges and handles
- Undertaking basic gardening
- Conducting emergency audits around the houses.
- Detects and reports the need for major maintenance repairs.
- Conduct performance assessments of property appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, hobs, ovens, etc.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a similar role.
- Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems.
- Ability to work with hardware tools and equipment.
- Have your own power and hand tools.
- Driving licence and own vehicle
- Extremely organised with good communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Job Type: Part-time (temporary role)
- Salary: £140.00 per day + fuel according millage.
- Schedule: 8 hours shift, 8am - 4pm
- Work Location: Mainly NW and odd occasions in South London.
- Expected start date: As soon as possible
