Oakley House is a small residential care home looking after up to 10 residents. We are looking for a part-time, experienced carer to join our small team and have a range of day/afternoon shifts available.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Support clients in daily activities such as meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping tasks.
- Develop and follow tailored care plans to meet individual needs and preferences.
- Maintain clear and respectful communication with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Assist with transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or social activities when required.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients’ health or behaviour to senior staff promptly.
- Uphold health and safety standards at all times, ensuring a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
Skills
- Valid driving license with the ability to operate vehicles safely for home care or transportation duties.
- Experience working within a care home or providing home care services is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of creating and implementing individual care plans tailored to specific needs.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to caregiving environments.
