Richmond Hill Breweries Ltd is an independent collection of pubs, hotels and B&Bs across the Midlands.
We’re not a large corporate pub chain, and we don’t want to be.
Our focus is on running great individual venues, each with its own identity, its own community and a manager who has the freedom and drive to make the business a success.
We are looking for experienced, motivated Pub Managers who want more than a traditional salaried management role.
This is an opportunity to run a pub as your own business, with the backing, investment and support of an established independent pub company behind you.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Self-Employed Pub Manager, your earnings are directly linked to the success of your venue.
You will receive 20%–24% of weekly sales, giving you the opportunity to significantly increase your earnings as you grow the business.
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the pub, including building your team, delivering excellent standards, growing sales and becoming part of the local community.
We take care of the property, stock and major operating costs, allowing you to concentrate on what matters most: running a fantastic pub and growing a successful business.

As the Self-Employed Manager, you will be responsible for your own staffing costs and Council Tax relating to your private accommodation.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We want experienced pub operators who are commercially minded, hands-on and passionate about hospitality.
You should be someone who can walk into a venue and see the opportunity: how to improve standards, attract new customers, look after existing regulars, build a strong team and ultimately increase sales.
You’ll need:
- Previous pub or hospitality management experience
- A strong understanding of running a profitable hospitality business
- Excellent customer service and people skills
- Confidence recruiting, managing and motivating your own team
- High standards across cleanliness, presentation and service
- The ability to develop events, entertainment and local trade
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach
- A genuine desire to become part of the local community
- A valid Personal Licence
