Nights are when good care matters most — and it's when the right people make the biggest difference. At AliMo Care, our Out-of-Hours Carers keep people safe, comfortable and cared for through the night, always working in pairs so you're never on your own.
You'll deliver planned overnight care — bedtime routines, welfare checks, continence support and medication — alongside reactive Careline emergency call-outs on behalf of Bristol City Council, responding to falls, welfare concerns and urgent situations across the night.
If you're calm under pressure, dependable, and genuinely care about doing things properly, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
- Working in a pair on every visit — shared decisions, shared safety, always supported
- Helping people settle for the night: washing, dressing, repositioning and comfort checks
- Carrying out scheduled welfare visits and overnight monitoring
- Providing toileting, continence and repositioning care throughout the night
- Administering or prompting medication in line with MAR charts
- Attending Careline emergency call-outs — falls, unresponsive service users and urgent assistance
- Responding calmly to emergencies, calling 999 when needed and escalating to the on-call coordinator
- Keeping accurate digital visit notes, incident reports and Careline logs
- Communicating clearly with service users, families, emergency services and coordinators
- Following care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures exactly
What we're looking for
- A warm, respectful, person-centred approach to care
- The ability to make safe, confident decisions in a night-time emergency
- Reliability and punctuality — people are counting on you to turn up
- Strong teamwork and clear communication
- Good digital literacy for logging visits and incidents
- Strong safeguarding awareness
Experience & requirements
- Previous care experience (domiciliary or residential) preferred — but not essential, full training is provided
- Enhanced DBS required (we'll arrange this for you if you don't already hold one)
- Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential — mileage is paid)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
We provide full paid training in medication, safeguarding, Careline response procedures, emergency escalation and our digital systems.
What we offer
- £13.07 per hour, plus paid mileage
- The reassurance of always working in a pair — never lone working on visits
- Fixed, predictable night hours (9pm–8am)
- Full training and ongoing support
- The chance to do work that genuinely matters, with a team that backs you up
This role offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your skills within a supportive team. We value energetic individuals who are committed to delivering exceptional care at all hours.
