Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patient Services Coordinator to join our friendly and supportive practice team.
We are looking for a reliable, organised and patient-focused individual who can provide an efficient and professional service to our patients while supporting the wider practice team.
To provide a combination of clinical administration, practice support and prescription duties, helping to ensure the smooth, safe and efficient running of the practice.
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors and deal with enquiries appropriately.
- Book, amend and cancel appointments in line with practice procedures.
- Manage urgent appointment requests and assess home visit requests according to practice protocols.
- Answer and document telephone calls, emails and clinical system messages, redirecting or escalating as appropriate.
- Maintain electronic and manual filing systems, including amalgamation of new patient records.
- Process and send urgent referrals and other clinical correspondence as required.
- Maintain tidy reception and waiting areas and restock patient information and registration materials.
- Complete daily checklists and other administrative duties allocated by the line manager.
- Process new patient registrations and ensure information is recorded and maintained.
- Process prescriptions and manage prescription related administrative duties.
- Support the practice workflow, ensuring incoming information is processed and directed appropriately.
- Complete regular fridge, data, clinical audits.
- Carry out routine fridge, clinical room and emergency bag checks, ensuring appropriate stock levels.
- Support the practice with clinical governance, safety and compliance requirements.
- Clinical coding, drug monitoring and follow-up.
- Manage vaccination recalls, support long term condition (LTC) recalls, drug monitoring and follow-up.
- The post holder is expected to maintain confidentiality, comply with practice policies and procedures, and undertake any relevant training required for the role.

Working pattern will be as follows:
Monday - 8.30am-1pm / 1.30pm-4pm
Tuesday - 8.30am-1pm / 1.30pm-4pm
Wednesday - 12pm-4pm
Thursday - 8.30am-1pm / 2pm - 4.30pm
Pay: £12.87 per hour
