About the Role
Winteringham Under 5s is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years professional to lead our well-established, thriving, and highly regarded setting. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful preschool, supported by a knowledgeable, committed and welcoming management committee within the beautiful village of Winteringham.
As Manager, you will provide strong leadership to a small team of dedicated staff, inspiring high-quality practice and creating an environment where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn. The successful candidate will lead by example, fostering a culture that promotes curiosity, confidence, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.
About Our Setting
At Winteringham Under 5s, we pride ourselves on maintaining a warm, family-oriented atmosphere where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. Through engaging, child-led experiences, we provide opportunities for children to explore, discover and develop through play, ensuring they are well prepared for their transition to school.
Operating as a pack-away provision with access to an outdoor learning area, we continually strive to enhance our environment and offer enriching experiences that support all areas of children's development.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the setting, ensuring high standards of care, learning and wellbeing.
- Manage, motivate and support a team of two staff members, promoting professional development and effective teamwork.
- Deliver and oversee an ambitious, inspiring curriculum that fully reflects the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Create a stimulating, adventurous and nurturing learning environment that encourages children to thrive.
- Monitor and continually improve the quality of provision and children's outcomes.
- Maintain strong partnerships with families, the management committee and the wider community.
- Ensure all safeguarding, welfare and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold relevant Early Years qualification to level 3
- Hold suitable level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
- Have some leadership experience
- Have a strong understanding of the EYFS and child development.
- Be passionate about providing exceptional early years education and care.
- Demonstrate the ability to engage, inspire and build children's confidence through meaningful interactions.
- Possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Be committed to continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards across the setting.
- Share our vision of creating a fun, inclusive and inspiring environment where children develop a genuine love of learning.
- Possess excellent safeguarding knowledge and a commitment to promoting children’s welfare.

Essential/Preferred Experience
Preferred:
- Minimum 3 years' childcare experience
- At least 1 year's management or supervisory experience

Please note that this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and suitable references will be obtained prior to appointment.
