* EXPERIENCED HGV MECHANIC REQUIRED*
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of trucks, machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong technical background and a keen eye for detail to contribute to the smooth running of our operations.
Hours of work will be 50 hours per week flexible to cover Monday to Friday with every other weekend.
Overtime will be paid above contracted hours and overtime will be paid for weekends.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HGVs, machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose faults accurately and perform necessary repairs promptly.
- Replace worn or damaged parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members to optimise maintenance procedures and minimise downtime.
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe at all times.
- Attend breakdown call outs
Skills
- Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are desirable.
- Familiarity with health and safety standards applicable to maintenance work. This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to apply their technical expertise in a dynamic environment while ensuring the safety and efficiency of operational machinery.
