This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe, secure, and enjoyable experience for all attendees at our upcoming schedule of high-profile events.
The Role
As an Event Steward, you will be the face of the event, acting as a primary point of contact for the public while maintaining a secure environment. Your expertise in spectator safety will be essential in managing crowds and responding effectively to dynamic situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crowd Management: Monitor crowd density and flow to prevent congestion and ensure safety in high-traffic areas.
- Access Control: Check tickets, credentials, and perform bag searches in accordance with event protocols.
- Customer Excellence: Provide accurate information to guests regarding seating, facilities, and schedules with a helpful and professional demeanor.
- Safety Oversight: Identify potential hazards, report incidents, and assist in emergency procedures or evacuations as required.
- Conflict Resolution: Handle disputes or non-compliance with venue rules calmly and diplomatically.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must hold the specific qualification required for spectator safety in a regulated environment.
- Qualification: Must hold a valid Level 2 Award/Certificate in Spectator Safety (or higher).
- Experience: Previous experience in event stewarding, security, or a high-volume customer service role is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Reliability: High level of punctuality and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to remain on your feet for extended shifts, often in outdoor environments.
