Role Overview
Our new Technical Manager will play a key role in protecting product quality, food safety and technical standards across the site. You’ll work closely with the wider leadership team to build a strong technical culture and make sure our products consistently meet customer, legal and regulatory requirements.
This is a hands-on leadership role, with responsibility for the site Technical team and for driving continuous improvement across food safety, quality, auditing and compliance.
Key Duties
The new Technical Manager will be responsible for maintaining high technical standards while building capability across the site. You will:
- Lead and develop the site Technical team and technical culture
- Maintain robust food safety, quality and compliance standards
- Ensure customer, BRCGS and regulatory requirements are consistently met
- Lead site audits and manage corrective and preventative actions
- Monitor technical performance, trends and risks, taking action where needed
- Work with Production, Engineering and other teams to resolve quality issues
- Support new products, processes and customer requirements
- Drive continuous improvement across technical and food safety performance
Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced Technical professional with strong food manufacturing knowledge and a practical, collaborative approach. You will have:
- Experience in a Technical Manager or similar food manufacturing role
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality and technical standards
- Experience working with BRCGS and customer standards
- Confidence leading audits, investigations and corrective actions
- Experience developing and supporting a Technical team
- Good communication skills and the ability to influence across functions
- A proactive approach to risk, compliance and continuous improvement
- Experience within seafood or a chilled food environment is desirable
