Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Groundworks Supervisor to lead and oversee External works and construction activities on our projects. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate teams, manage daily operations, and ensure that all groundwork tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Your expertise will help drive project success from initial site preparation through to completion, fostering a proactive safety culture and maintaining excellent communication with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate groundworks teams to ensure timely and quality execution of excavation, trenching, foundation laying, external works and site preparation activities
- Monitor daily operations on-site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies
- Manage on-site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce deployment
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential issues early and implement corrective actions promptly
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to align work progress with project plans
- Lead supervising efforts by mentoring team members, reviewing work quality, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability
Qualifications
- Proven management experience in groundworks or civil construction projects with a strong supervisory background
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse project management.
- Relevant certifications in health & safety practices; additional technical qualifications are a plus
