Store Manager – Tonbridge High Street
£32,000 per year | 40 hours per week | Full Time
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Store Manager to take responsibility for our busy convenience store in Tonbridge High Street.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to genuinely take ownership of a store. You’ll have the freedom to improve the operation, develop the team and help drive the business forward.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the overall day-to-day running and performance of the store, including:
- Leading and motivating the store team
- Managing rotas and staffing within budget
- Maintaining excellent store, cleaning and merchandising standards
- Taking ownership of stock ordering and availability
- Controlling waste, stock loss and shrinkage
- Monitoring till discrepancies, refunds and voids
- Improving sales, margin and overall profitability
- Managing promotions, ranges and seasonal activity
- Ensuring food safety, licensing, health & safety and company procedures are followed
- Monitoring running costs and identifying opportunities to make the store more efficient
- Working with senior management to introduce new ranges, systems and services
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous retail management or strong supervisory experience
- Is hands-on and happy to work alongside the team
- Takes ownership and gets things done
- Has high standards and excellent attention to detail
- Is commercially minded and understands the importance of sales, margin, waste and labour costs
- Can confidently manage and develop a team
- Is comfortable making decisions and solving problems
- Wants to improve a store rather than simply maintain it
