HGV Mechanic (Night Shift)
Location: Northampton
Pay: £24.00 per hour + 50p per hour licence allowance (Class 1 or Class 2) + Overtime paid at Time & a Half
Shift: Monday to Thursday | 8:00pm – 6:30am

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join the night shift team at a modern workshop operated by one of the world's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers.

The Role
As an HGV Mechanic, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of commercial vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring maximum reliability and safety.
Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, inspections and routine maintenance to DVSA standards.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
- Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Accurately complete job cards and service documentation.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and adhere to all Health & Safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
- Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- A Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) licence is advantageous and attracts an additional 50p per hour.
- A positive attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
