We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Puzzle Club Instructor / Games Master to lead two weekly after-school Puzzle Clubs at a primary school in Chiswick, London (W4). This role offers children the opportunity to develop logical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork through a variety of puzzles, strategy games, brain teasers, chess activities, and hands-on challenges in a fun and supportive environment.
The clubs will run on the following schedule:
- Puzzle Club (Years 2–3): Mondays, 3:30pm – 4:30pm
- Puzzle Club (Years 4–6): Thursdays, 3:30pm – 4:30pm
The programme will run from week commencing 7th September 2026 to week commencing 4th December 2026, excluding the two-week half-term break.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise small groups of primary-aged children in engaging puzzle and strategy-based activities.
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate sessions incorporating puzzles, brain teasers, logic challenges, chess, strategy games, code-breaking activities, and problem-solving tasks.
- Encourage critical thinking, perseverance, creativity, and teamwork through enjoyable and inclusive activities.
- Adapt challenges to suit different age groups and abilities.
- Create a positive and supportive environment where children feel encouraged to think independently and take on new challenges.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children's participation and progress.
- Ensure all resources and activity spaces are organised, safe, and ready for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience working with children in schools, clubs, childcare, tutoring, or similar educational settings.
- An interest in puzzles, chess, strategy games, problem-solving activities, or enrichment learning.
- Ability to engage and motivate children in a structured yet fun environment.
- Strong English communication skills for working effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- A background in education, mathematics, chess, STEM, youth work, or enrichment activities would be advantageous.
