Beech Farm Estate is a regenerative and organic estate along the banks of the River Dee in Cheshire. We focus on improving soil health and increasing biodiversity through considered land management, habitat creation and sustainable estate practices. This is a physically demanding role, working outdoors in all weather conditions, where you will see the direct impact of your work and contribute to ongoing estate development, improvement projects and biodiversity monitoring.
The Role:
- Habitat and landscape development and maintenance
- Tree planting and maintenance
- Fencing erection and maintenance
- Track maintenance
- Estate drainage works, including ditch maintenance, grip clearing and supporting drainage improvements
- Weed control – by hand or mechanical
- Chainsaw work, strimming and hedge cutting
- Tractor and digger driving
- Grass cutting including parkland and formal gardens
- Keeping yards, work areas and storage spaces tidy, clean and organised
- Maintenance of estate equipment and machinery
- Meeting and supporting visiting groups
- Contributing to the biodiversity data collection process, formally and informally
Skills & Attributes:
- Proven practical skills and experience in outdoor, land-based or estate work
- Confident handling a range of hand tools, machinery and gardening equipment
- A strong work ethic with a proactive, positive and can-do attitude
- Willingness to take on new challenges and try different types of work as estate needs evolve
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- High standards of workmanship, with the ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Adaptable and reliable, with a flexible approach to varied tasks and priorities
- Interest and commitment to working to organic and regenerative standards
- Tractor and implement driving experience
- Tree, bird and wildflower knowledge would be an advantage

- Groundworker-style role, predominantly focused on groundworks and estate projects
- Initial three-month contract with the potential for extension
