Bethesda Care Home & Hospice is seeking a reliable, practical, and caring Handyperson/Gardener to help maintain our buildings and beautiful outdoor spaces. This is an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our residents, patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out general maintenance and repair work throughout the care home and hospice.

Perform routine safety checks and report any maintenance issues.

Maintain the gardens, lawns, flower beds, hedges, and outdoor areas to a high standard.

Ensure pathways, entrances, and outdoor spaces are clean, tidy, and safe.

Undertake painting, decorating, basic plumbing, carpentry, and minor electrical maintenance (where competent).

Assist with setting up rooms and moving furniture and equipment as required.

Liaise with external contractors and oversee their work when necessary.

Maintain maintenance records and ensure work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.

Support emergency maintenance needs as they arise.

Contribute to creating a pleasant, dignified environment for everyone using our services.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
-
Has previous experience in general building maintenance, property care, gardening, or a similar role.

Is practical, organised, and able to work independently.
-
Has a good understanding of health and safety practices.
-
Takes pride in maintaining high standards.
-
Is friendly, approachable, and respectful when working around residents, patients, families, and colleagues.

Can prioritise tasks and respond flexibly to changing needs.

Holds a full clean driving licence
