Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder / Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing precise welding operations and assembling components to high standards, ensuring the production of quality products. The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and be comfortable working with various tools and materials. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in TIG welding and assembly processes to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. Materials are predominantly Aluminium and Stainless Steel
Duties
- Execute TIG welding and other welding techniques on various materials and specialised components
- Fabricate parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to specifications
- Assemble components accurately according to technical drawings and assembly instructions
- Operate and maintain fabrication equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency standards are met
- Conduct quality checks on welded and assembled parts to ensure compliance with specifications
- Assist in the preparation of materials and components for welding and assembly processes
- Carry out leak tests to verify weld integrity (training provided)
- Use sand blasting unit and Ultrasonic tanks (training provided)
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Knowledge of sheet metal work, mechanical assembly, and basic maths for measurements and calculations
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Relevant mechanical knowledge or previous experience in manufacturing environments is highly desirable
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures related to welding and assembly tasks
Pay: £17.00-£19.00 per hour
