Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Self Employed Courier to join our logistics team. This role involves delivering parcels and goods efficiently across designated routes, ensuring timely and secure deliveries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing their own schedule, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate your own vehicle to deliver parcels to various locations within the assigned area
- Plan efficient routes to optimise delivery times and minimise fuel consumption
- Handle packages with care, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain proof of delivery as required
- Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch teams regarding delivery status or issues
- Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure it remains in good condition
- Manage your own schedule to meet delivery deadlines
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, ideally within a commercial or logistics environment
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for the vehicle used, with a clean driving record
- Experience with commercial driving and warehouse operations is advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and handle physically demanding tasks
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Organised, reliable, and capable of managing time effectively in a self-employed capacity
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns is beneficial
