Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and enhance system architecture to support business needs using technologies such as AWS, Azure, and virtualization tools like VMware and ESXi.
- Design and implement system integrations utilizing APIs, RESTful services, SOAP web services, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles.
- Manage system administration tasks across operating systems including Windows, Linux, UNIX, and macOS to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Configure and maintain network components such as VPNs, firewalls, DHCP, DNS, load balancers, and VPNs to secure data flow and connectivity.
- Collaborate with development teams on DevOps practices including continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
- Conduct troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning for applications built with JavaScript, C#, Java, Ruby on Rails, VBA, C++, Shell Scripting, and other programming languages.
- Ensure information security standards are met by implementing best practices in cybersecurity measures like firewalls, VPNs, encryption protocols, and access controls.
- Support database management using SQL variants such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL scripts, PL/SQL procedures for data integrity and availability.
- Participate in system design sessions to develop scalable solutions aligned with business objectives while adhering to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) methodologies.
Skills
- Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, DHCP configuration, load balancing techniques, VPN setup & management.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure for deploying scalable applications and managing cloud resources efficiently.
- Proficiency in SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), NoSQL databases (MongoDB), and data modeling best practices.
- Programming skills in Python, JavaScript (including CSS & HTML), C#, Java; experience with shell scripting (Bash/Unix shell) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of system architecture design principles for distributed systems utilizing microservices architecture with RESTful APIs or SOAP web services.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes for deployment automation.
- Experience in systems engineering covering system design specifications; troubleshooting; debugging; performance tuning; security hardening across operating systems like Windows Server or Linux distributions.
- Understanding of DevOps tools such as Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines; Git for version control; Docker containers; automation scripting; solution architecture planning.
- Awareness of information security best practices including firewall configuration; encryption standards; access controls; vulnerability assessments.

Pay: £50,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
