We're looking for an Assistant Managers to support our team.
We're an independent community pub in the East End. We rely heavily on our lovely, kind locals and of course are always looking to add new recruits. It's massively diverse with people that had grandparents that drunk in the pub and customers that have just moved to the area. We are event heavy, hosting drag cabaret, Music Bingo, vinyl days, live music and a piano singalong which make the day go a bit quicker.
We're looking for a social, fun, energetic, vibrant person to add to our fun nurturing team. Mutual respect is key. We don't put up with any rudeness from customers & we don't call staff in on their days off but we expect full professionalism in return. Our previous team are often found at the end of the bar so we know we're doing something right.
We can offer a real life work balance that is so rare in this industry. We prefer our AGM to stick to 40 hours over 5 days a week. Management keep the same 2 days off a week and have either the Friday or Saturday night off each week which means we keep a full social life. We are willing to discuss a job share of 20 hours if that is preferred.
This role will suit somebody that wants to be hands on at the bar. Focusing on customer care over sales data. I imagine it'll either be someone moving into pub management for the 1st time looking for a supportive environment or someone experienced looking for an easy life
Essential skills and qualities required:
- 2 years experience in a community pub environment
- Cellar experience - including barrel change & ale care
- Excellent spoken English
- 1 years experience of leading a team
- Good team player
-Excellent people skills
- Respect for equality

- Kitchen experience
- Social media promotion
- Barrista training
- IT administration - creating sales reports
- DIY skills
- Cellar tech skills - changing couplets / seals /line clean
