We are re-imagining after-school activities in Edinburgh! At Future Academy, we skip dry textbooks and silent classrooms. Instead, we give children early exposure to real-world STEM careers through hands-on, play-based learning. Right now, we are looking for a vibrant, enthusiastic Little Einstein Instructor to lead our science and discovery tracks.
The Role
We need someone with a passion for science who is still a "big kid" at heart. You will guide children through the magic of physics, chemistry, and biology using safe, exciting, and hands-on experiments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Host interactive, high-energy science workshops and mini-experiments for groups of young learners.
- Break down complex scientific concepts (like gravity, chemical reactions, or magnetism) into simple, fun steps.
- Maintain top standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization in the lab space.
- Build an encouraging environment where kids feel safe to ask "why?", make predictions, and get hands-on.
- Bring energy, patience, and positive vibes to every single session.
What We Are Looking For:
- STEM Passion: Strong background or enthusiasm for science (science students, teachers, STEM graduates, or passionate science communicators welcome!).
- Youth Experience: Direct experience teaching, mentoring, entertaining, or supervising children.
- Top-Notch Communication: Excellent public speaking skills and the ability to capture the attention of a lively room.
- Safety & Safeguarding: High awareness of child safety and practical lab rules. An active PVG (Disclosure Scotland) membership is required (or willingness to apply).
- Location: Must be based in or near Edinburgh.
