Pear Tree surgery is a 3 partner, 6 salaried GP semi-rural dispensing and training practice in North Warwickshire. From our main surgery based in Kingsbury and our smaller site in Hurley, we provide full general medical services to a list of approximately 10,500 patients.
We are currently looking for one full-time receptionist and dispensary assistant to join our friendly staff team. This vital role provides the first point of contact with patients and requires dedicated team players comfortable working in a busy environments.
Roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Answering and dealing with telephone and face to face enquiries
- Arranging appointments for patients and signposting to relevant services
- Taking messages and passing on information
- Processing and distributing incoming messages
- Filing, photocopying and scanning
- Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines
- Dealing with clinical waste
- Liaising with Doctors, Nurses and other members of the team to provide a quality service for patients
Applications are invited from candidates with the following:
- Computer literacy with experience of Microsoft Office and adaptable to a variety of software packages
- Excellent administration skills being able to successfully multi task
- Sound numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Customer service experience having the ability to deal with patients on the phone and in person in a professional and compassionate manner
- Attention to detail with the capability to concentrate on critical tasks
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
Whilst we welcome applications from candidates experienced in EMIS / DOCMAN software and qualified dispensary assistants, full training is provided in both areas.
Candidates must be able to cover shifts between 8am and 6.30pm on weekdays and be on a rota to cover Saturday morning surgery. Shifts will either be at Kingsbury or Hurley.
Working hours will be:
Monday - 8:00-13:30
Tuesday - 8:00-18:30
Wednesday - 8:00-13:30
Thursday - 8:00-18:30
Friday - 13:30-18:30
Rates of pay start from £12.85 per hour and once dispensary course has been completed, pay will be £13.32 per hour.
Employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
