Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Casual Funeral Operative to join our team and serve the local community in a caring and meaningful role. This role involves supporting funeral services and ensuring that all arrangements are carried out with dignity and professionalism. The position offers variable hours suitable for individuals looking to contribute meaningfully within a compassionate environment. The successful candidate will be committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and presentation during sensitive occasions.
Duties
- Driving and bearing on funerals
- Responding to first call removals from private residences, hospitals and care homes
- Be available 1 week in 3 to take part in an on call rota
- Providing support to bereaved families as required, offering compassionate assistance during difficult times
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained in good condition and reporting any faults or issues promptly

- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Compassionate demeanour with strong interpersonal skills to support grieving families
- Ability to work flexibly, often on short notice, in a professional and discreet manner
- A respectful attitude towards sensitive situations and a commitment to maintaining dignity at all times
Pay: Up to £12,000.00 per year
