Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Staff member to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, and ensuring the smooth operation of the counter area. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties
- Serve customers at the counter, taking orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare food items in accordance with food safety standards and company procedures
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change
- Upsell additional products to maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area and food preparation zones
- Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, including basic cooking or assembling items
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Manage stock levels and notify management of any shortages or supply issues
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to enhance the overall experience
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or similar food service environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Experience with food preparation and kitchen operations is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
- Ability to upsell products effectively to increase sales
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Friendly, approachable manner with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
