Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter/Joiner to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures made from wood, metal, and other materials. Your expertise will contribute to a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial builds. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to ensure precise execution of carpentry tasks
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install a wide range of structures such as walls, floors, ceilings, roofing components, cabinetry, and fixtures
- Operate hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders, nail guns) safely and efficiently to complete tasks
- Perform roofing work including shingling, flashing installation, and waterproofing to ensure durable weatherproof structures
- Conduct construction painting to finish surfaces smoothly and aesthetically in accordance with project requirements
- Assist with plumbing installations related to carpentry projects when needed
- Engage in fabrication activities such as custom woodwork or metal fittings to meet specific project needs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed on-site at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery within construction environments
- Strong knowledge of construction painting, roofing techniques, plumbing basics, masonry work, welding processes, electrical systems experience, and fabrication methods
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools essential for precise craftsmanship
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights or in confined spaces
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to carpentry or construction trades are a plus but not mandatory
Pay: £27.00-£30.00 per hour
