Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to patients in their own home settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in IT, and have the ability to follow care plans diligently. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support the implementation of personalised care plans tailored to individual needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
- Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding when required
- Ensure a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT literacy for documentation and record keeping purposes
- Medication Trained
- Epilepsy trained
- Ability to work flexibly across various shifts including days and evenings as required
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in following care plans and procedures
