Quality Inspector - Weekend days

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join a busy machine shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out in-process and final inspections of components
- Perform visual, dimensional and mechanical inspections using inspection tools including calipers, micrometers and thread gauges
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Raise and manage non-conformances in line with procedures
- Record traceability information and support quality documentation
- Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and Logistics teams
- Support continuous improvement and root cause investigations
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and housekeeping
- Help ensure delivery targets are achieved
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a production or engineering environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical inspection techniques
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience using dimensional inspection equipment
- Good knowledge of SAP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and proactive approach to work
- Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred
- CMM inspection/programming experience advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ mechanical inspection experience desirable
