We’re looking for a Handyperson to join our Repairs team
As a Handyperson, you’ll carry out basic DIY tasks for our customers and help keep our homes and communities in great condition. You’ll support work on empty properties, help with customer moves (decants), and take part in estate checks to make sure our neighbourhoods stay safe and well maintained.
You’ll be part of a responsive, customer ‑ focused team, making sure queries from customers and colleagues are dealt with quickly and professionally.
What does a typical week look like as Handyperson?
As a Handyperson, you’ll be at the heart of providing our customers with safe secure homes.
As you may imagine, this isn’t always easy, and requires strong work ethic, good communication skills and bags of resilience, a typical week could look as follows:
- Conduct Morning block checks and complete any minor repairs, re-secure any damaged doors/boards
- Replace a damaged padlock, tighten a loose gate hinge, remove hazardous debris (e.g., broken glass).
- Complete scheduled estate inspections—record condition of communal areas, lighting, signage, doors, and any health & safety risks
- Support gas/electric companies & utility companies with entry to carry out safety checks and meter isolations.
- Raise jobs for trade operatives where specialist work is needed (e.g, glazing, electrical).
- Reassure customers and provide clear updates to internal teams and customers on expected timelines.
- Re-board a previously broken window and reinforce damaged boarding where needed.
- Change or fit a new Key safe to a property ensure keys are controlled.
- Isolate a supply to stop a small leak; safeguard the area and report for a plumber if required.
- Help a customer relocating due to major repairs, this could include fitting curtain poles, re-assembling a bed frame
- Submit estate audit reports; highlight recurring issues and suggestions for prevention.
Through the week have a safety-first mindset, always follow safe systems of work for self, colleagues, contractors, and customers.

What would make you the ideal Handyperson?
If you’re someone who lives by your values and isn’t shy of hard work, you’ll fit right in. You’ll earn trust by being open, reliable, and accountable, show respect to customers and colleagues, and work side ‑ by ‑ side with the team to get the job done well.
It would be great if you had:
- Experience working as a handyperson or a role that required you to complete DIY tasks
- Experience in operating small power tools and other hand tools (I.e Cordless drill, driver)
- Experience in handling and operating small gardening equipment (i.e. powered grass strimmer’s).
- Knowledge of required health and safety practices
- A solution-focused approach with a strong sense of ownership to see tasks through to completion
- Customer focused attitude with a positive and proactive approach.
- Able to work in a busy environment, staying organised and managing different tasks at once.
- Comfortable using simple technology, like a PDA, to find information and record work details.
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
