About the role:
Office is recruiting for a Junior Merchanider to join our sports team and be part of an ever growing department. The chance to work with leading fashion sports brands such as Nike, Adidas, and New Balance to bring the most trend lead and exciting new products to our customers.
The Junior Merchandiser will be responsible for end to end management of the accessories department as well as major footwear accounts to maximize sales opportunities and plan future ranges
Main Responsibilities:
- Ownership of key sports accounts and accessories department through day to day trading to planning future ranges
- OTB and sales plan management of the department on our retail planning system
- Produce and analyse weekly reporting at department, brand and store level with the ability to identify opportunities and risk in trade
- Trade the brands: manage and forecast never out of stock lines, suggest repeat orders and plan promotion and markdown strategies considering margin impact
- Orderbook management: intake, outstanding orders, cancellation and phasing proposals to ensure optimal stock flow and accurate commitment data
- Participate in weekly trade meetings with the buying team and senior management
- Attend and present in supplier meetings and develop strong working relationships
- Work closely with stores and branch merchandising specifically on new and remodelled store roll out and planning ranges with grading and option count in mind
- Train and develop junior members and line manage teams workload and progression
- Work alongside the buying team to plan future ranges providing accurate sign off data
- Analyse past performance and propose future strategies for the department
- Ad hoc analysis when required

- Analytical mindset and comfortable working with large data sets and financial budgets
- Commercial and strategic thinker
- Leadership and management skills – previous management of direct reports desirable
- Advanced excel skills and knowledge of reporting tools
- Ability to work as part of a fast paced driven team
- Strong communication skills and ability to build internal and external relationships
