CORT1 – INSTALL, COMMISSION, SERVICE, REPAIR AND BREAKDOWN OF GAS FIRED COMMERCIAL OVERHEAD LUMINOUS RADIANT PLAQUE AND RADIANT TUBE HEATERS
- Diagnosis faults on boilers and other domestic gas appliances
- Reading drawings and plans to find the exact location of gas pipes
- Attending the scene of emergency gas leaks
- Installing domestic gas boilers and central heating systems
- Maintenance, service and repair work on gas central heating systems
- Updating building logs with new components installed
- Assisting with the coaching and development of trainees
- Planning and prioritising own work activities and managing time efficiently
- Producing accurate administration documents and safety certificates
- Promoting good Health and Safety practices in the workplace
- Hold a valid current CSCS card
- Hold a valid Gas Safe card / registration
- Identify required tools and special equipment
- Select the type and size of pipe required
- Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures
- Assemble and install valves and fittings
- Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls
- Install, repair and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems
- Install, repair and maintain sinks, tubs and toilets
- Install, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners
- Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim
- Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
- Prepare order for supplies to minimize downtime on site and / and have effective written communication skills
- Keep daily records
- Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
- Apply all codes to installations, repairs and maintenance
- Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work may be performed from ladders or hydraulic lifts in high voltage areas.
Some jobs require and employee to work in a hostile environment, on high structures and be exposed to inclement weather conditions.
The role is site based with exposure to some unpleasant working conditions, due care and attention is necessary to mitigate this. Personal Protective Equipment provided must be used to mitigate these unpleasant conditions. It is the Employees responsibility to ensure the PPE equipment is used properly and as and when required. Company Policies and Procedures sets out specific instances and the minimum circumstances of how and when PPE equipment should be used.
The role also requires the ability to work flexibly and deal constructively with unanticipated / variable situations such as co-operative and not so co-operative customers and their varied home conditions.
Ensure that on completion of work the property is left in a clean and tidy state.
RESPONSIBILITY –
Responsibilities include working under limited supervision using standard practices and methods, providing information and advising others. Operating with a defined budget.

Pay: £38,600.00-£43,700.00 per year
