HGV Technician – Glasgow
Hours: Rotating shifts – Early/Lates or Constant Lates available
Week 1 (Earlies):
Monday – Thursday 07:00 – 15:15
Friday 06:00 – 14:30
Week 2 (Lates):
Monday – Thursday 15:30 – 00:00
Friday 12:30 – 21:00
Saturday: 08:00 – Job Finished – paid at 1.5x rate
Full time, permanent
Earning Potential – Salary:
£16.28 – £23.80 per hour (dependent on experience, including shift allowance)
Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate (Saturdays)
Realistic OTE: £40,000 – £52,000 (depending on shift and experience)
Overview
We're looking for an HGV Technician to join a world-renowned commercial vehicle manufacturer in Glasgow. If you're qualified and ready for a stable role, this is the one that offers progression right the way up to Master Tech and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs
- Diagnostics and fault finding
- MOT preparation and inspections
- Completing job cards and service records accurately
- Working safely and efficiently within a busy workshop team
What You'll Need
- Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI) in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (essential)
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Full UK driving licence – LGV/HGV/PCV licence an advantage
- Bus and coach experience an advantage
- IRTEC accreditation desirable but not essential – training available
