Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems within our facility such as Plant Machinery, HGV's and Transit Vans. Duties
- Assemble mechanical components and systems according to technical specifications and drawings
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and repair tasks
- Assist in the installation of new equipment within the warehouse or production areas
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to ensure operational efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs undertaken
- Collaborate with team members to optimise assembly processes and improve safety standards
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in assembly, maintenance, or repair roles
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Previous experience is desirable but not essential; a keen willingness to learn is important
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- HGV Driver Prefered
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks, including lifting heavy components when necessary
