£60,000 – £70,000 + Company Van + Fuel Card + Paid Overtime (OTE £100,000)
Our client is a well-established specialist within the high voltage electrical engineering sector, delivering maintenance, commissioning and operational support across critical electrical infrastructure. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to join their expanding team in the North West.
This is an excellent opportunity for a current SAP to take on a varied role involving network operations, switching, commissioning and fault finding across HV/LV systems up to 33kV.
The Role
Reporting to the SAP Manager, you will be responsible for the safe control, operation and management of HV and LV electrical networks, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Distribution Safety Rules and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out HV/LV switching and isolation activities up to 33kV.
- Issue safety documentation, including Sanction for Test.
- Manage on-site teams, including Jointers, Fitters and subcontractors.
- Undertake commissioning, pre-energisation checks, relay testing and fault finding on HV switchgear and associated infrastructure.
- Liaise with DNOs and iDNOs regarding planned outages and new grid connections.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in compliance with Distribution Safety Rules.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current Senior Authorised Person (SAP) authorisation under formal Distribution Safety Rules.
- Proven experience operating on electrical networks up to 33kV.
- A strong understanding of distribution networks, switchgear and protection systems.
- HNC, ONC, recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 years' experience within an electrical contracting or DNO environment.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience operating as a Senior Authorised Person.

Please note: Candidates must be willing to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota, travel and work away when required, and support project delivery and planned maintenance activities.
