Duties & Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Manage and deliver complex retail and leisure planning projects for both public and private sector clients.
- Evidence Base Development: Lead the preparation of development plan evidence bases to support local authority planning.
- Specialist Assessments: Prepare detailed retail impact assessments and robust sequential site tests.
- Data Analysis: Utilise an aptitude for data to underpin planning arguments and strategic advice.
- Policy Application: Apply a deep understanding of retail planning policy to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Portfolio Diversification: Collaborate on a wide range of planning projects across the broader Nexus sector portfolio.
- Client Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing innovative solutions for town centres and communities.
Requirements
- Proven Experience: A minimum of three years of professional experience specifically within retail planning.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated background in producing retail impact assessments and evidence-based reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to work with complex datasets and translate them into planning strategies.
- Policy Knowledge: Thorough understanding of current UK retail and leisure planning policy and trends.
- Professional Mindset: Passionate about the role planning plays in improving environments and town centres.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for reporting and client consultations.
